“KAION” Takes Off In Los Angeles
EXO’s Kai kicked off his first solo tour, KAION in the U.S. on August 28th with his first stop at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
The tour offered VIP packages, one with soundcheck and another with an additional group photo. While he claimed to be jet lagged throughout soundcheck, Kai brought incredible energy to the stage. He took his time to communicate with the fans and ensured every person had an experience they wouldn’t be able to forget.
Easily slipping into his idol persona, he opened strong with his song “Sinner”, from his third mini album “Rover”. As the show progressed he donned three strikingly different costumes that complemented the song's vibes within each section. The first was an elegant red ensemble to highlight the delicate sensuality of the songs. Following that, he wore a deep green suit that left one wondering if he was the child of Aphrodite. Finally, he opted for a striking leather jacket, with nothing underneath (of course). With a setlist full of iconic title tracks and sexy b-sides, Kai tore up the stage in a way that left you wanting more. To top it all off, he performed a medley of EXO’s iconic hits such as — “Growl”, “Tempo”, “Love Shot”, and “The Eve.”
In the group photos Kai made sure to greet every fan. Although he had limited verbal communication due to language barriers, he made up for it by giving out hand hearts and waving to fans. His sweet nature off stage heavily contradicted his confident stage presence and it made me find him that much more endearing. If you have the chance, I highly recommend attending his tour!
